CHEM 101 - Introductory Chemistry IType of Course: Lecture, LaboratoryDesigned to meet the needs of science majors and the prehealth program, as well as those seeking a rigorous introduction to chemistry as part of their liberal-arts education. Introduces fundamental chemical concepts and applies them to a discussion of structure, bonding and reactivity of molecules. Knowledge of high-school algebra is necessary; high-school chemistry and physics are helpful, but not required. The laboratory teaches techniques of chemical experimentation and methods of chemical analysis. In-class and final exams, laboratory reports and quizzes. |
