GEOG 216 - Field Methods for Environmental Science

Central to scientific work in the environmental sciences is the collection and analysis of field data. In this field-based course students will learn central methods used in environmental science, especially forest ecology. Students will also work with the scientific method and explore how to formulate and test hypotheses. Class meets once per week in the classroom, where students will discuss methodological approaches, or in nearby forest ecosystems, where students will learn to collect and analyze field data.

 

Prerequisites: The successful completion of or concurrent enrollment in GEOG 116 or consent of the instructor is a prerequisite for GEOG 216.
