BCMB 252 - Bioinorganic Chemistry

Type of Course: Lecture
Discusses the chemistry of metals in biological systems and models of these systems. The introductory material introduces general principles and theories of biochemistry and inorganic chemistry, as well as metal ion and drug transport in biological systems. This is followed by an introduction to physical techniques used in studying metalloproteins. The major part of the course discusses the application of these principles and methods to a wide range of metallobiological systems.

Prerequisites: Permission of the instructor.
