CMLT 181 - The Literature of Modern Spain in Translation

Readings representing the major authors and trends in the literature of Spain in the 19th and 20th centuries. Emphasizes the realist novels of Galdós and Clarín in the 19th century; the philosophical novels of Unamuno and Pérez de Ayala, poetry and theater of Lorca and the postmodernist narratives of Goytisolo in the 20th century.
