HIST 372 - Advanced Topics on Latin America: Many Mexicos

Type of Course: Research Seminar
What identifies the real Mexico today? This is an opportunity to research and discuss the many different peoples, cultures, economies and challenges from throughout Mexican history that help us better understand this complex, divided and internationally important nation. Discussions will include a wide range of topics, events, institutions and influential people drawn from Mexico’s pre-Columbian, conquest, colonial and modern experiences. There will be a special focus on unique social, cultural and economic perspectives. We will ask questions and seek out answers as a group while students utilize first-hand accounts and a variety of sources to research and explore areas of individual interest.
