FIN 4200 - Financial Management


This course is an introduction to the basic concepts, principles, and analytical techniques of financial management. The primary goal of the course is to help the student understand both financial markets and financial analysis. The course covers the time-value of money, in both personal and corporate decision making; the principles of financial asset valuation; and the role of risk in financial analysis and valuation. Practical applications of the theory presented will be attained through the discussion of cases. The course covers finance from the perspective of both the investor as well as the corporate manager. The students will understand how to value securities and capital projects using basic financial models.

Open to MBA and MSA students only.

Prerequisites: ECON 4004 , STAT 4006 ; ACCT 4100 , ACCT 4101  or waiver. For MSA students, ACCT 4101 may be taken at the same time as this course.
