MIS 5501 - Database Management Systems


The learning objective of this course is to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the concepts and methodology for the design, implementation, and management of database system. A second objective is to develop skills for using tools to design and develop database applications. The important topics covered include database models, entities and relationships, normalization, user interface, and SQL (Structured Query Language). We will use Access as a hand-on tool to enhance students’ experience in applying and integrating creatively the methodology and techniques to real world scenarios.

Open to MBA and MSA students only.

Prerequisites: Must have

  waiver.
