IDCE 313 - Environmental Science, Engineering &Technology (ESET)


This course covers important scientific and technical topics in the arena of water, air and solid waste science, engineering and technology. It is designed to follow on naturally from the foundational core course “Fundamentals of Environmental Science” (IDCE30287) that students typically take in their first semester of the MS Program. The class will deepen and widen the student’s scientific and technical knowledge base relating to the following key topics: 1) surface water pollution; 2) groundwater pollution and remediation; 3) water and wastewater treatment; 4) air pollution chemistry; 5) air pollution advection and dispersion; 6) vehicle emissions; 7) indoor air pollution; 8) solid waste processing, management and recycling. It will also further strengthen quantitative and analytical ability. The course is open to advanced undergraduates by permission.

Prerequisites:  IDCE 30287 Fundamentals of Environmental Science
