PSCI 104 - Politics of Ethnicity and Identity


This course explores the ways in which ethnic and other political identities both shape and are shaped by historical processes and political narratives. In particular, we will examine the formation of racial, ethnic, and national identities from a range of theoretical perspectives. We will also look at how these identities are mobilized for political purposes and discuss the origins of and possible solutions to the phenomenon of ethnic conflict.
