COMM 220 - Communication Ethics

Catalog Description: The course examines a range of issues in the field of ethics as applied to the various areas of culture and communication. This course is intended for students majoring in communications with little or no background in philosophy or ethics. Emphasis will be given to professional aspects and ethical topics which might be encountered when pursuing a contemporary career in a range of professions in the communication field. Specific issues could include: privacy, intellectual property, responsible advocacy, and social responsibility in disseminating information. Lecture/discussion.
