Focuses on contemporary cultures to examine local and national identities as they are globally determined. Emphasizes the elastic and the plastic nature of cultures and the importance of time, place and space to understand the emergence of new culturally diverse settings. Examines the nature of social and cultural change in local, national and global economic and political spaces.
