GEOG 376 - Natural Resource Governance in Latin America

Type of Course: Seminar
This seminar has the following aims. First, to explore theoretical approaches to the governance of natural resources through an engagement with the literature on Latin America. Second, to understand the relationships between contemporary resource governance and broader political and economic histories in the region. Third to grapple with a number of contemporary resource governance dilemmas in the region. While having a heavy theoretical bent, the course is explicitly regional and will therefore be of particular interest to students wanting to deepen their knowledge of environment-society relations in, and the political ecology of, Latin America.
