Certificate in Nonprofit Human Services Management Requirements


Clark University offers a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Human Services Management.  This five-course certificate is orientated toward leadership and program development within the Human Services sector.  The certificate provides career growth opportunities for middle-level nonprofit human services managers.  Courses completed as part of this certificate may apply toward the Master of Public Administration degree.

Required Courses:

Transfer Credit:

Students may be awarded up to two units of transfer credit toward this certificate if they apply for and recieve approval through the traditional transfer process or the Assessment of Prior Learning (APL)* program.  Students must complete at least three of the courses in order to satisfy the residency requirement.  Interested students must consult with their academic advisor.

* The School of Professional Studies offers Assessment of Prior Learning (APL) credit for up to two (2) graduate level courses.  APL credit is awarded for both demonstrated learning and experience. APL is offered to adult learners with three (3) or more years of work experience. It is the student’s responsibility to apply for and create a portfolio with the necessary documentation to demonstrate proficiency in the subject matter.  Admitted SPS graduate students interested in APL should review the APL policy and process and consult with their academic advisor before the end of their first term in the program.  There is an administrative fee associated with the APL process.  APL credit counts as transfer credit.
