ECON 128 - Intro to Economic Development

Type of Course: Lecture, Discussion
This course is an introduction to development economics. Students examine the major theories of economic development, the major problems confronting less developed countries, and the policies and strategies appropriate for economic development. Some of the topics discussed include: Poverty and inequality, education and health, the relationship between population and development, international trade, and sustainable development. Offered in alternate years with ECON 228 . Students may not take both ECON 128 and ECON 228 .

Prerequisites: ECON 010  or ECON 100 .
