ENG 340 - Introduction to Graduate Study in English

Type of Course: Seminar
Examines certain fundamental aspects of literary theory and the history of literary criticism. As a consequence, the course considers the nature of and relationships among the three principal areas in the discipline—bibliography and textual analysis, literary history, and literary criticism emphasizing theory. M.A. candidates not specifically exempted are required to take this course.

Prerequisites: Seniors by permission of the instructor.
