GEOG 399 - Directed Research: NASA UAV Project


Students will actively participate in actual missions involving Unmanned Aerial Vehicles functioning as suborbital imaging platforms. The focus of the course will be image analysis for precision agricultural applications and/or forest-fire management. Long-distance learning with research scientists based at the NASA Ames Research Center in California is part of the course curriculum. Students also will have an opportunity to be based at the UAV Applications Center in the NASA Research Park in California for a one-week period during spring break.
