GES 157 - The Politics of U.S. Environmental Issues

Type of Course: Lecture, Discussion
Why have environmental policies emerged or failed to emerge? What is distinctive about the politics of environmental issues? Primary focus is national environmental politics and policy making in the United States. Examines the character of policy action, public ideas, political leadership and institutional development across several prominent environmental issues. Assignments emphasize class discussion, oral presentations, group simulations and short written analyses. GOVT 050 strongly recommended.
