HIST 209 - U.S. History Since World War II

Type of Course: Lecture, Discussion
Examines the recent American past from Watergate through Generation X. Utilizes film and video to reacquaint students with figures ranging from Elvis Presley and Richard Nixon to Ronald Reagan and Anita Hill. Major themes include the death and rebirth of the affluent society, the persistence of ethnic and racial conflict, and the waning of the Cold War.
