PHIL 080 - Virtue and Education in Plato’s Republic

Type of Course: First-Year Seminar
A careful study of Plato’s Republic, with a special focus on the theories of value and education he outlines in this dialogue. We examine Plato’s ideas concerning the nature of virtue, knowledge, and happiness both in the state and in the individual soul.
