PSCI 219 - Politics and Development in Southern Africa

Type of Course: Seminar
Explores in a comparative way various issues in the politics and development of the Southern Africa region: race, class, gender, ethnicity, democratization, land reform, labor migration, the HIV/AIDS pandemic, the environment, child labor, the World Bank and the role and effectiveness of the Southern African Development Community. The countries covered include: South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
