PSYC 145 - Psychophysiology

Type of Course: Lecture, Discussion
Deals with how the activities of the body outside of the central nervous system interact with, reflect or produce psychological states and processes. Topics will include the functioning of the autonomic nervous system; techniques for measuring autonomic and other bodily activities; the role of bodily activities in emotions and other feelings; lie detection; the impact of stress on autonomic functioning and on immune system function; the effects of meditation, exercise and biofeedback on physiology and experience.

Prerequisites: PSYC 101 .
