PSYC 240 - Psychology of Nonviolent Personal and Social Struggle

Type of Course: First Seminar
This course considers the growing literature on personal and societal nonviolence. The first third of the course examines ideas about nonviolent communication, empathy, nonviolence in American literature, and the pragmatic investigation of historical nonviolent social struggles. This course will also consider the strategy of nonviolence, current nonviolent actions, and how nonviolent theory might be applied in contemporary struggles.
