PSYC 328 - Cognitive Development in the Wild

Type of Course: Graduate Seminar
In this seminar, we will examine different theoretical approaches to cognitive development, in different domains (e.g., language, number, physical world, biological world, play, etc.). The focus of the seminar will be “cognition in context” (as opposed to the laboratory)—e.g., the role of cognitive development in education research or the role of play in the development of understanding the mind. The readings will be selected from psychology, sociology, education, ethnography and anthropology.
