PSYC 379 - Advanced Topics in Development:Theories and Practices

Type of Course: Capstone Seminar
This course will examine some of the major theories that have influenced the field of developmental psychology including Piagetian, Vygotskian, information-processing, sociocultural, theory-theory, connectionist, and dynamic systems frameworks. These theories will be compared and contrasted in terms of their basic concepts and core issues, and from the viewpoint of how they relate to the phenomena of development as well as empirical research practices in different content areas such as attachment, concept development, and language development.

Prerequisites: PSYC 101  and PSYC 150 .
