MIS 5509 - Cyber Security Fundamentals

This course begins with an introduction to the basic concepts of data security both physical and logical. It continues with dealing with data security standards, the SSL and S-HTTP protocols, data integrity; data encryption; coding methods; the use of smart cards; assurances of financial transactions, payment methods of E-business and E-Commerce; medical information security, legal aspects of information security.

Open to MBA and MSA students only.

Please note: Course previously listed as MIS 5900 Cyber Security Fundamentals. Students who took the course under that designation should not register for this, as it is the same course.

Prerequisites: MIS 4500  or waiver.
