STAT 4450 - Managerial Statistics


This foundation course is designed to review or introduce the basic concepts of statistics and probability.  Students will learn how to collect data, calculate statistics to describe the data, and interpret the data to draw conclusions.  In the course the students will learn descriptive statistics, characteristics of discrete and continuous probability distributions, sampling distributions, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing.  The course will also cover linear regression and correlation.  Students will perform tasks in in MS Excell and this course will serve as a primer for the courses in Big Data Statistics.
