ACCT 5103 - Management Accounting with Data Analytics


This course integrates traditional management accounting topics with contemporary data analytic tools, equipping students with a comprehensive skill set essential for modern business decision-making. While reviewing fundamental concepts like basic product costing systems and cost-volume-profit analysis, the course emphasizes advanced topics, including activity-based costing, budgeting, variance analysis, relevant costs, and capital budgeting.

Moreover, this course trains students in data analytic tools such as advanced Excel functions and Tableau visualization to analyze and solve managerial accounting problems. Upon completion of the course, students will emerge with a solid understanding of both managerial accounting principles and data analytics methodologies, empowering them to make informed decisions and excel in today’s data-driven business landscape.

Corequisites: ACCT 4100  , or ACCT 4101 , or waiver.
