MGMT 296 - Special Topics in Management This course addresses current or timely topics. Special Topics can vary from semester to semester; the course focus changes with each offering, depending on the faculty interest. May be repeated for credit if topic is different.
Spring 2025 Topic - SMALL BUSINESS ANALYST
This course is organized around projects provided by a variety of mostly for-profit organizations in central Massachusetts. Undergraduate students will be matched with teams of graduate students are invited to work in these organizations to consult on a specific business problem they need assistance with. Working with guidance from Clark faculty members and managers from the host organizations, the student teams analyze their assigned projects and recommend courses of action. Management, in turn, critically evaluates and responds to the students’ analysis and recommendations, in much the same manner that they respond to proposals from their own staff. This course is taught in partnership with the Small Business Development Center and all organizations are SBDC clients.
