LEAD 1030 - Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to recognize, understand, and manage one’s own emotions as well as to be aware of others’ emotions and how to influence them. EI is a powerful skill that can be learned to impact behavior and decision-making. Understanding and developing EI helps us understand ourselves and others and their behaviors; build and maintain strong relationships; and lead.

Students will learn the key characteristics of EI; assess their EI to develop a plan to build their EI skills; learn about strategies to create an environment that fosters EI and expand leadership capacity.
