SPAN 130 - Spanish for the Professions: Medical Spanish This course is meant to enable students to develop their knowledge of Spanish in the field of Health Professions. The materials used for this course aim to offer a significative representation of medical situations and how cultural background, identities and intersectionalities (such as gender, religion or age) are crucial elements to be considered in this professional setting. Students will acquire verbal and cultural tools to conduct a medical visit in Spanish and will reflect on how to use their linguistic skills for specific purposes while learning through the COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) methodology. This course is designed for students interested in the field of Health Professions who already possess intermediate or higher communication skills in Spanish. Heritage Speakers and Native Speakers are welcome.
Prerequisites: SPAN127 or higher - Native Speakers Welcome
