MFAV 3999 - Residency V: Final Thesis

The program culminates with a student’s thesis, which provides the basis for the intellectual and aesthetic understanding of the student’s final work and exhibition. The topics and subject of the thesis are determined by the third semester and most of the preparation and writing of the document occurs in the final semester of the program. Students are encouraged from the start of the program to begin their research and exploration phase of their thesis. This can include the development of the thesis through other academic work and papers written as part of the larger program. The thesis is defended by the student in this fifth and final residency and is an integral part to the student’s final artist talk presented publicly during the residency.

Students will be charged a residency fee and thesis evaluation fee upon registering for this course.
