EN 120 - Foundational Science of Environmental Problems How to apply basic principles from science - like the Laws of Thermodynamics, chemical reactions, and risk - to problems of pollution, resource over-exploitation, and health impacts is foundational to Environmental Science (ES). This class gives you the technical literacy, skills and confidence you need to understand pressing problems that affect us all: Water pollution; air pollution; climate change; environmental health risks; population growth and the over-exploitation of natural resources. It will also strengthen your math skills and quantitative ability, and carries a Formal Analysis designation. ES scholars and professionals are generators and integrators of diverse disciplinary concepts, principles, knowledge and tools - including, but not limited to those from physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, health science, hydrology, climatology, earth systems science, geography and GIS.
