MSSA 3100 - Venue Management

This course provides an in-depth exploration of venue management, focusing on the strategic planning, design, and operation of sport and public assembly, including facilities.  Students will examine the historical evolution of event administration, from ancient times to contemporary practices, and apply management principles to real-world scenarios.  The course covers a wide range of topics, including venue construction, maintenance, budgeting, merchandising, concessions, ticket sales, crowd control, risk management, and the impact of current trends on facility management.  Through practical projects, discussions, and a final design challenge, students will develop the skills necessary to effectively manage and operate various types of venues.
