SSJ 306 - Environmental Knowledge, Governance and Justice Studio This graduate-level course provides hands-on experience with real-world environmental governance and justice initiatives. Each year, students work closely with an environmental organization, such as a municipal agency or local non-profit, to tackle a complex environmental problem. Participants engage in project-based learning through collaborative research and field work with the partner organization. The course provides opportunities for students to apply substantive knowledge, theoretical frameworks and practical skills from prior coursework and experiences. Through reflexive practice, students develop their individual and collective identities as change-makers. ES&P graduate students and prospective ADP students in their senior year may take this course as an Experiential Learning unit. In 2025, it will be conducted in conjunction with undergraduate students enrolled in ID 131 (Local Action/Global Change), focusing on collaborative efforts with the No Coal No Gas Campaign, supported by Climate Disobedience Center and 350 New Hampshire to advance just transitions to renewable energy.
