ACCT 215 - Financial and Operational Auditing


This course introduces the fundamentals of financial and operational auditing, focusing on traditional auditing principles while incorporating essential analytics techniques. Students will engage with core topics such as risk assessment, audit planning, and the evaluation of internal controls. Through a combination of lectures, case studies, and practical exercises, students will learn to conduct thorough audits, prepare professional reports, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. This course prepares students for careers in auditing by providing a solid foundation in audit theory and practice, along with an understanding of how analytics can support the auditing process.

The course will emphasize communication skills, critical thinking and decision-making skills, and real-world issues in auditing.

Prerequisites: ACCT 101
