CHIN 101 - Elementary Chinese I

Introduces the Chinese language (standard Mandarin) for students with no background in Chinese. Focus is on all four language skills–speaking, listening, reading and writing–including the writing of Chinese characters. There is a weekly discussion session with a teaching assistant.

Prerequisites: No more than 1 yr previous Chinese; must register for discussion session. 5 seats reserved for incoming first yrs.
