TA 132 - Contemporary Dance Repertory: The Creative Process and Performance

In this course, students engage in the full creative process of learning, developing, and performing contemporary dance repertory. Under the direction of the instructor, students will learn a choreographic work from beginning to end while also contributing original movement material that may be incorporated into the final piece. Each class begins with a guided warm up that leads into rehearsal, where students focus on technique, musicality, artistic intention, collaboration, and performance quality. The choreographic work will be presented in a performance at the end of the semester.

This course may be repeated for credit.
