ARTS 119 - Foundations in Photo Media


This studio-based course introduces students to the principles of photographic image-making, including composition, light, and visual storytelling. Students engage in observational and conceptual exercises, produce projects that apply art & design principles, and develop technical skills through hands-on experimentation with analog film cameras and digital cameras, printing, image-making processes, and time-based media. Critiques emphasize the use of visual art vocabulary to analyze and communicate about work. Portfolio reviews are NOT required for Visual Arts courses. Open to nonmajors.

Students will be charged a V & PA lab fee upon registering for this course.
