GAME 180 - Computer Illustration for Game Design Computer Illustration provides a comprehensive exploration of intermediate digital painting techniques, emphasizing advanced proficiency with brushes, layers, textures, and professional digital workflows. Students refine their understanding of essential artistic principles such as color theory, composition, and lighting to create dynamic, visually engaging, and conceptually strong artwork.
Through techniques like matte painting, digital painting, and speed painting, students will develop concept art, character and creature designs, still life, and landscapes, rendered in both realistic and stylized styles. The course fosters growth through regular critiques, encouraging critical thinking and refinement of artistic skills.
By the end of the semester, students will have produced a series of polished, portfolio-ready pieces that demonstrate their technical versatility, creative vision, and mastery of digital art techniques used to create and implement digital artwork for projects such as video games, films, animations, and other media.
