CHEM 260 - Physical Chemistry

Type of Course: Lecture, Laboratory
CHEM 260 covers thermodynamics and kinetics. Topics include the gas law, kinetic theory of gases, the first law of thermodynamics, the second law of thermodynamics, Gibbs and Helmholtz energies and their applications, nonelectrolyte solution, phase equilibrium, chemical equilibrium, and chemical kinetics.

Prerequisites: MATH 121  or MATH 125 , CHEM 132  or CHEM 134 , PHYS 110  and PHYS 111 , or preferably PHYS 120  and PHYS 121 .
