HIST 350 - Baseball in the Blackstone Valley

Baseball in the Blackstone Valley is a collaborative workshop in which students research the rich history of industrial baseball leagues in the local Blackstone Valley, from 1919 to 1955. The workshop is held in collaboration with the Worcester Historical Museum and the National Park Service. Through the study of industrial baseball leagues, students will explore larger themes in U.S. history, including the nature of industrial capitalism, immigration and assimilation, struggles between labor and capital, and worker culture.
