Overview

The Master of Arts in Education is designed for practicing teachers, typically those working in partner schools, interested in deepening their practice and understanding of student learning. The program curriculum emphasizes the importance of reflection and inquiry as part of a teacher’s practice, and culminates in a teacher research project. The curriculum is otherwise tailored to the background and interests of each teacher.

The program’s core purpose sits squarely in the intersection of the respective missions of the Adam Institute for Urban Teaching and School Practice and Hiatt Center for Urban Education to support the development and understanding of practice, and aligns with the emphasis at Clark on socially engaged learning and on connecting learning to practice.
