Clark University offers undergraduate and graduate pathway programs for international students. These pathway programs are designed to accommodate students who are academically admissible in a degree program but for their English language skills. The program consists of a holistic approach to language acquisition while students are actively enrolled in academic content courses in their degree of study. Once a student successfully meets all of their academic and linguistic requirements, they are fully matriculated into a Clark degree program. Students can only participate in pathway a maximum of two semesters and will be expected to meet full matriculation standards within that timeframe. Students achieving a B average or better in their content courses and meeting or exceeding Clark’s English language standards can move to full matriculation in thier degree program.
Admission to the pathway program (graduate and undergraduate) is typically for a non-native English speaker with a TOFEL score of 70 or higher. However, Many of Clark’s degree programs require a TOFEL score of 85 or better for full admission.
Clark University’s Pathway programs are administered by the American Language and Culture Institute (ALCI).
