No matter your area of non-business specialization, you can kickstart your career with general management expertise and increase your value within your current organization. Our M.S. in Management program is specifically designed to make students with non-management backgrounds feel at home in the world of business.

The Masters of Science in Management degree provides students with management knowledge that can be applied as an emerging leader in any career, in any sector-private, public, or non-profit.
Students will augment educational or work experience with a solid foundation of graduate management education and a broad understanding of management’s applications. Regardless of their undergraduate background, students will learn how to work with diverse stakeholders in key areas of an organization:
- Accounting
- Marketing
- Information technology
- Human resources
Most importantly, the MSM will help develop the leadership and decision-making skills students need to effect community and organizational change.
Graduate Program Requirements
Students are required to complete an Economics prerequisite course prior to their start in the MSM program. An undergraduate economics course with a passing grade of ‘C’ or higher will meet the prerequisite. If students are missing the prerequisite, they will be required to enroll in the prerequisite, ECON 4004, through Clark University OR complete a specific online course through Udemy prior to starting in the MSM program.
The MSM requires 10 units of coursework. Six units of core coursework are required, as well as four units of elective coursework.
Electives
MSM students take four units of electives to complete their degree program. Electives can be taken in any of the following subjects within the School of Business: ACCT, BAN, FIN, MGMT, MKT, OM, TMHR. Some restrictions may apply. Electives should be selected in consultation with a student’s academic advisor.
There are a large number of courses, beyond the cores listed above, that can be an elective for the MSM student provided any pre-requisites are met. Courses designated for a specific program, such as an in-depth financial course only for MS-Finance students, are not allowed. Any such designations are noted on the semester’s course grid.
If a student is interested in a particular course that is designated for a specific program, they can speak to their academic advisor.
