Master of Fine Arts in Interactive Media Overview

The Master of Fine Arts in Interactive Media program offers an innovative studio-based curriculum that is flexible and customizable, allowing students the opportunity to master tools, theory, and practice associated with their own vision to design and develop publishable titles and lead their own studio team.

Our program requires 15 units and prepares students for careers in the competitive and ever-changing fields of game development and interactive media, or a career path in higher education, teaching, and research.

The Master of Fine Arts in interactive media curriculum requires 15 one-unit courses. MFA course work includes self-directed project development, research, and thesis writing. In the second year of the MFA, students will act as Creative Director and Team Lead for an undergraduate Game Studio team. The graduate student, along with this team, will work to complete an original work of Interactive Media to be exhibited at the end of the year along with the MFA student’s thesis defense.
