Master of Science Emerging Technologies Overview
The Master of Science in Emerging Technologies (MSET) is a cutting-edge, 18-month online program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to lead in the rapidly evolving tech landscape. This program features ten intensive seven (7) week courses that cover critical areas such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity. Students will gain both foundational knowledge and advanced expertise in strategic management, ethics, and governance of emerging technologies. The program emphasizes hands-on experience and practical skills in tech leadership, innovation, and security. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to earn industry certifications, enhancing their professional credentials and marketability. With a strong focus on applied learning, the MSET degree prepares graduates to implement advanced technology solutions, drive innovation, and strategically manage technology-driven organizations, positioning them at the forefront of the digital revolution. Graduates from this program are equipped to assume roles as technology product managers, AI/ML engineers, cloud solutions architect, cybersecurity managers, and others technology forward jobs that require knowledge and skills to innovate and drive tech solutions to solve problems. Internship
Internship is not required. Course of Study
This curriculum consists of ten (10) required courses. Recommended Program Map for Part-Time Students: 18-month program, to be taken sequentially, one course at a time. This program is intended for working professionals, and designed to be taken part-time. While a completely online program, the program map enables students to develop a community as they go through the program together. Students take two courses each semester, one in each part of the semester. Program Learning Outcomes
- Analyze and Evaluate Emerging Technologies: Critically assess current and future technologies, including their impact on various industries, and identify opportunities for strategic implementation within organizations.
- Lead and Innovate using Emerging Technologies: Develop leadership skills to manage tech teams and projects, foster innovation, and drive organizational change through technology-driven strategies.
- Navigate Ethical and Governance Challenges: Understand and negotiate the ethical, legal, and governance issues associated with emerging technologies, ensuring responsible implementation and compliance with industry standards.
- Implement Advanced Emerging Technologies: Gain hands-on experience in cloud computing, machine learning, generative AI, and cybersecurity, applying these skills to solve complex problems, enhance security measures, and create innovative solutions in real-world contexts.
- Synthesize Knowledge Through Capstone Projects or Certification: Demonstrate expertise by completing a capstone project or earning an industry-recognized certification, showcasing the ability to apply advanced technological concepts and skills in a professional setting.
