Overview

Because of our limited size, the department offers a terminal M.A. only through the Accelerated B.A./M.A. Program, limited to qualified Clark undergraduate history majors. For more specific information regarding the application process, please contact the Clark History Department.

M.A. Requirements

There are three requirements for Master’s students:

1.  They must take four course credits each semester.

2.  They have to fulfill the research requirements for the Master’s Degree.  They can do this either by completing a Master’s Thesis, which is usually done over two semesters, or by completing one research paper in each    semester.

3.  They must pass an oral exam near the end of the spring semester, in which their graduate adviser and one other faculty member from the department take part.
