MUSC 098 - Foundations of Music and Production


Foundations of Music Production introduces music theory’s essential elements, including scales, intervals, keys, triads, elementary ear training, notation, meter, and rhythm. Students explore the essential aspects of music theory by completing music production projects in various popular styles. Students will gain experience using
musical instrument digital interface (MIDI) systems, digital audio workstations, software-based samplers, synthesizers, drum machines, and sequencers by completing their productions. Outcomes include the completion of original compositions that demonstrate the student’s ability to apply the essential elements of music theory in music production.
