CSEC 2010 - Ethical Hacking


This course is a study of ethics in and around Cyber Security hacking with the goals of testing, assessing, and safeguarding of infrastructure.  The course looks at best practices and Cyber and IT policies, procedures, and security infrastructure of ethical hacking.  This course reviews the governance of ethical hacking, including strategies, permissions, policies, guidelines, maintenance, access, and clearance.  This course explores the mind of unethical hacking, while focusing on fundamental defense methods via case studies, lab work (e.g., network and systems administration, coding techniques, architectural design, tools, etc.), reporting writing, policy generation, and forensic analysis of real-world methods.  This course will leverage virtual, and edge systems for exercises and requires scripting, and code techniques as part of the course work.
