MATH 245 - Introduction to Partial Differential Equations

One of the most important fields of mathematics is the theory of partial differential equations (PDEs) and it has applications in many branches of physics, engineering, biology, economy, and other sciences.  This course is an introduction to PDEs and the major topics are: quasi-linear 1st order PDEs, classifications of 2nd order PDEs, wave equations, heat equations, Laplace equations, eigenvalue problems, Fourier series, method of separation of variables, and integral transform methods with applications.

Prerequisites: MATH 131 - Multivariate Calculus
